Hello,I am a gamer and have been interested in airsoft for some time.(never participated, same for paintball) I am a low budget person at the moment(probably will stay that way),it may be some time before I can amass enough gear to be 'worthy' of combat,so you will probably will not see my face any time soon. Well that was short... not much else to be said.

Hey Shadow welcome to the pack, your not alone there are a couple other gamers here that play...as for gear all you need is some goggles, a gun, spare magazine, and some bb's. I have a couple guns that I rent out I charge five dollars for them and have a wavier to sign so feel free to come out to Sunday's game we'll have a gun for you to use. bpd35.proboards37.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=530

Yeah, welcome. Like Kyle said, you don't need a lot of $$$ to come out and play. If you can afford a $5 rental fee and provide your own goggles/BB's, you're good to go.
Just out of curiosity, when you say "low budget," what kind of budget are talking about, because there are some very good airsoft guns available for pretty cheap these days.
I don't know what kind of research you've done, but I know when I first got into airsoft, I was very discouraged because I thought I had to drop $300+ to get a decent gun, not to mention the rest of my equipment. However, I quickly found out that $90-$130 will buy a great gun, which made airsoft a lot more accessible for me.
Anyway, welcome to BIA, hopefully you can come out to a game sometime and try it out.

When you can't even grab a decent graphics card for your gaming rig you feel VERY low budget.(ex. a mid-high range card goes for $50,a significant upgrade to what I have now)
I am thinking about checking the field out sometime, even if I cannot play,if that is fine.

As for low-budget sniper rifles, you might actually want to check out something like this: www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/model.pl?model_id=1571It does not have sights on it, but I was able to mount a $10 RIS rail on top, which allowed me to mount a scope on it. It is accurate enough to be a sniper rifle, and might be a cheaper way into airsoft. I know that $90-$140 seems like a lot of money for airsoft... IT IS! No one here is going to pretend that it's a cheap hobby to get in to, it's definately a financial commitment. That's why renting can be a great option, especially if you're not going to make it to a ton of games. Personally, I've dropped an obscene amount of $$$ on airsoft guns and gear (most of which I've sold/traded), and I can only make it to 5-7 games a year. If I didn't like having my own stuff so much, I should probably just rent and save myself the money. Seriously, if you could get $20-$30 together for some camo/goggles, then you could just spend $5 per game to rent a great gun. The options are there if you are really interested, the guys at BIA are more than willing to make it happen if you really want to get into airsoft.

Thank you guys for some very welcoming posts, and some very nice suggestions... Matthew, the games I play the most(FPS wise,I have a broad spectrum encompassing all genres) are... (1) Starseige:Tribes (2) UnrealTournament/2004 (3) TeamFortress2 those are just the top 3 The most realistic that I play however is a modification for Unreal Tournament 2004 called Ballistic Weapons,by these guys(most online activity can be found here)... www.runestorm.com/online.phpSuffice it to say,I like my fiction.
