I started cleaning the dirt from my M4 today and when I removed the upper reciever from the gun I noticed that both tabs that hold it in place are broken....for now I am just gonna glue the tabs, but I am looking around for a metal body so I can get rid of this problem.
alot of the metal bodies I've seen are pretty expensive, however i did see one on ebay, but it is a Dboys reciever. I know nothing of Dboys, are they a pretty cheap brand or do they generally make decent quality stuff?

anything metal shoudl work if it is TM compat..... Dboys makes so so clone weapons but if it the receiver your looking for it should be fine.

ive seen the recievers for like 125/150 or something like that... and, i did see someplace advertising the Dboys reciever for like 45 or some where in that range... i dont know for sure on the quality or whatever on Dboys stuff... when you take the reciever apart, and then put it back together, you have to be careful first on the little shiny tin shield that protects the battery wires on the left side of the gear box as you are closing it... go very slow when closing it... then, just as the "tabs" on the upper start touching the lower, you have to "squeeze" them so both sides go inside the edges of the lower reciever, then pop the pins in and your done... id just replace the plastic upper for now if the glue thing doesnt hold... and if ya do decide to get a metal reciever, id buy the cheapest one i could find, then after one of the games, give it to me or dave so we have the week to swap all of the stuff over, and do any "custom fitting" that may be needed... [unless you have the ability to do it yourself of course] i thought about getting one of the dboys recievers my self... just dont have the extra cash yet...

some how my last post was deleated... look for a front rail system [foregrip] ... that will take care of the barrelwobble... find something like a "RAS II" that comes back and ties into the upper reciever... there is also one that comes back and goes up and over the carry handle where your scope mount is... can still use scope, just wouldnt need the handle adapter...

for now i found a temporary fix, i can move my carry handle up a few inches so in is linked between the two rails. It looks goofy but it eliminates the wobble

AIRSOFT GI is where i got mine... look at the "RIS/RAS" in their "external upgrades" ... its called "RAS II" made by ECHO 1 for 69.00, and the other is "MADBULL DRAGON FIRE" for the m4 60.00... DAVE has this and it made his gun barrel wobble free... very solid... you can check with him this sunday, i believe its on his SR25... i want one for my M16 that has a lot of wobble...

SR-25 comes standard with a full metal rail system.
The Mad bull is on his M16 which he is trying too sell.
