Okay this thread is concerning the L96 Bolt action rifle. I haven't ever used one of it's Gas variants so I cannot express any accurate information on them. Maruzen also makes a bolt action L96 however I've never used or seen one so i can't give any info on it either. If you however have, feel free to add to this Having used all three brands listed in the title, I will have to say that I have found the UTG the most dependable. It does cost more than the other two but IS still a clone rifle of the Maruzen. Out of the box the internals, the barrel, and the hop up are caked with a nasty grimy grease that will affect your accuracy and range. I reccommend a quick tear down and cleaning for 2 reasons. First you'll get to familiarize yourself with your new rifle. 2nd, cleaning all the goo from the factory off it, greatly improves its performance. The reason I've come to favor the UTG brand of L96 is because when I used someone's Well, it seemed very poorly maintained and was very VERY inconsistent. The TSD i used wasn't too bad but seemed to lack in range as compared to my L96. For those reasons I have stuck with the UTG model. There are some very easy upgrades you can do to it at home without breaking the bank. of course if you wish to truly push it's potential, aftermarket parts are available. Of all the sniper rifles I have currently used the UTG L96 ranks at the top of my list.
