ok, with my echo 1 now.....the front site comes out right before the hand guards so i am able to push the site back down in to the guards so what i am asking is, should the front site be that loose?

no, it shouldent move at all...... there should be a set screw or a screw that holds it in place.... depends on what type of handguards you have..... with the stock "plain" looking M16 grips, there should be a set screw or 2 pins that hold it... with the "new" style aftermarket RIS or RAS rail type handguards, it may be screwed to the front of the grips instead....

im not at home to look right now.... give me an 1/2 hour and call me at [260] 503-9086... ill look on my guns.... should be at least the 2 pins that hold it on the barrel... when it slides forward, do you see any "notches" on the barrell? there will be 2 of them on the bottom of the barrel, where it sits if it was in the right place.... im heading home now...
