Since our tech has been stuck in Anderson the last month or so ( Except the last couple of Holiday's ) . I attempted to take my CM028-S apart to upgrade the spring and bearings.
BIG MISTAKE... While the gearbox is compatible the way to get to it and open it is rather difficult. Getting that screw driver in to secure the spring guide is about impossible. So as of now I am sitting on a heap that promises to be a pain to get back together and back into the gun.

What I plan on doing is installing the M110 in my ICS m4 Pcr. Then taking the stock spring from my ICS and moving it over to the CM028-S.
However, Just taking the gearbox out of the China made gun I had stuff falling out that goes to I dont know what LOL.....
Not to mention this thing was packed SOOO FULL OF grease that even the piston housing was greased . The Shims just fell out when I opened it ... This thing is a nightmare. !!
First timers... You would think that after watching dave so much I would have it down... I found out that Clones are WAAAY different in getting to the box vs just getting the box out with an ICS or CA.

I just figured that the AEG wouldnt be near as bad. I believe that was the reason it was freezing up was because of the grease.

Just a warning to everyone else... I recently stripped down a TM M4 for a paintjob, which wasn't that difficult. However, I got it almost all put back together when I dropped a tiny screw INSIDE the motor. For those of you who don't know, the AEG motor is basically one big magnet, so anything metal dropped inside is NOT going to come out easily. Long story short, I had to open the motor up, retrieve the screw, and then spend half a day putting it back together. It's good now, but I was nervous for a while.

V3 gearboxes while extremely dependable can be a pain in the @$$ to work on.

My biggest problem with AK gearboxes is the stupid selector switch assembly on the outside. The rest of it is not too bad. It is a pain getting those things adjusted right.
