This is thegun I plan on buying soon. I've read a lot of great reviews, I hope it's as good as people are saying. It's pretty old-school, but I think it will be good. For around $140, the price is right too.

I have heard some decent things about them. Never seen them in action before.

I've heard that they shoot really hard, which is good and bad I guess. Great accuracy, but I don't want to be hurting people. I've seen some stuff online about people modifying gas guns to shoot a little slower, but I can't see myself trying to mod it on my own.

Depending on the power you can do a couple of things to slow it down some. Different gas power , heavier BB's can slow it down a tad.
Other than that as long as you observe the distance engagment rules you will not have a problem. Thats why it is good to have a side arm . !! ;D

I'll let you know what happens. I'm currently talking with an Indiana-based airsoft dealer who is willing to sell the gun, and extra magazine, 5,000 BB's, and 1100ml of Green Gas for $200.00. Not bad at all for a complete starter package.
I have an HFC USP that I'm pretty fond of, I think it will do fine when I'm within the minimum engaging distance of the M172 (as long as I can eliminate any opponents in 34 shots or less!).
