Yea you still have to have goggles the reason we don't allow just those is because if a bb hits that and shatters the particles will go right in your eyes. I do have one of those if you have a small enought set of goggles you can actuly wear them under that mask.

Yeah those type of masks don't do anything to keep bbs out of your eyes.

Aha so I see. But do the goggles worn under the mask have to be full seal?

Yes! Put it this way. Do u really want to cheap out on eye protection? Your eyes can not be replaced. There are a ton of options for masks or goggles. There are plenty of low cost full seal eye protection. Keep in mind there is a big diff between low cost and cheap. Make sure they ANSI rated. If fogging is what your worried about there are options out there for that too. Masks with fans. Add on fans. Even the new wide-I magnet system. That's what I'm getting.

It should also be stated that we do check. We catch someone without goggles on the first time the sit out a game. Twice... I've never seen someone do it twice but I would assume for the safty of the individual and those playing you would be banned.

OK. Thank you. I'm just planning out a load out and decided to get the common consensus of other players to better help me make my choices. Also, probably a really newby question, if I were to get maybe a lower mesh face mask, I have seen other players wear some sort of cloth protection underneath, is that required?

It's more so to protect thier teeth...if you want a really good brand of goggles look at the ESS ones thats what I use.

Yeah the lowers are ment to protect your teeth. I would rather loose a tooth then a eye. Anther tip on your load out is don't get sucked into one thing. Go out and play and figure out what works and what doesn't. I have learned this the hard way. But u can for sure always wear some kind of balaclava under the mesh to add a layer of protection. Plus a balaclava can help cover your ears. And help keep ticks out of your hair.
