I just took my Echo 1 M4 to the Ol Ball and Chain Shop. I would not recommend you going there, took my gun over two months for them to fix. Anyway, they replaced gear shims, a spring to downgrade the fps to 350 for cqb, some motor connectors, new steel gear set, put new steel piston teeth, and a Classic Army 8mm bearing. He also replaced the stock Echo 1 motor with a SRC ultra high torque motor. I was excited to shoot it but when I charged up my battery it shot like 7 or 8 rounds a second. It was horrific. It went from about 14-15 rounds a second to me shooting it faster on semi auto. I am extremely mad and I told him to put a good motor that might INCREASE the rof. If you guys could tell me whats wrong and why its shooting so slow that would be great. I think its the cheap SRC motor which he charged 60 bucks for but I could be wrong.

The guys a crock who only cares about money, could have told you not to go to him. Almost sounds like he put too heavy of a spring in it...what battery are you using. (If you wanted more rof he should have installed a high speed motor.)

nuts storm incoming.... Hopefully not Nighthawk very sorry for your experience with ball and chain. Some people here love them, others hate them. I can say this about them, buying gear there is okay, never ever ever leave your gun with them. As for your issue, the gears might be high torque gears? He has been known to use the wrong gears. It might just be a motor as well. I can tell without seeing the gearbox with my own eyes. Koyote? Sasha? Dave? Any of you guys with more experience have words of wisdom here?

Get a list of the parts he used, have a feeling he just used crappy CA parts.

Alright, heres the list of parts he used:
2x female spade connectors 6'' 1/8 inch shrink tubing 1x trigger switch return spring 1x JA 56 Polycarbonate piston with full steel teeth 1x SRC Ultra high torque motor (Long shaft) 6x gear shims 1x JG Spur Gear from M-58 H.D. steel gear set 1x Classic Army 8mm bearing
All of these parts about $100 And yes, I think he's just out for the money and doesn't care about the quality it was total of $152 for his "labor" and all the parts. If you guys know why it shoots so slow and it sounds like crap please give me your predictions. I'm using a 9.6v 1600mah Matrix battery from Evike. The battery works perfectly in my CA p90. I really appreciate the replies and all of the suggestions, if any of you know what I should do, that would be great. And if you guys think it needs replacement parts and if you'll be willing to work on it, that would be great too. I can't spend too much because as I said before, all this cost me $152.
Thankyou

Also, I did talk over the phone awhile ago when he had it, and I told him that I wanted a high speed motor instead of the ultra high torque. Of course he has these lame excuses like: "putting in a high speed would make it shoot too hard (since I wanted 350 fps) and I just don't know what to do. I feel like I've just been scammed into paying 150 dollars for a slower shooting gun, even though I told him I wanted a faster ROF. When I shoot it, it makes the sound like the battery is low and it shoots like the battery is low. I'm just confused and would love to get some help. If you're still reading this about my huge rant, and have some suggestions that be be awesome. Sorry for your trouble.

I think I see the issue... You night need to be using a lipo. assuming everything else is good working parts. I was thinking about buying a Classic army LWRC awhile back, and the gun being super high torque would only take an 11 lipo battery. Its why i did not end up going with the gun. I still dont know for sure, but he may have over torqued your set.

classic army guns suck. But any way yea I think Wolf's right sounds like it's pulling way to hard...he doesn't know anything because the motor isn't what makes a gun shoot to hard.

excuses like: "putting in a high speed would make it shoot too hard (since I wanted 350 fps) He really has no idea what he is doing by that statement. The motor has nothing to do with FPS. How did you pay for this upgrade? If you paid by MasterCard, then I would contact them & they can do something about it due to their customer protection thing. The torque gears shouldn't screw your ROF that much, maybe it is a bad shim job. Hard to tell over the internet. 6X Shims? 6 total shims or 6 shims sets? Either way sounds weird.

I think he put in 6 gear shims. If I have him take out the ultra high torque motor and put in a high speed motor, would that make it back to normal? Or would he have to take out some parts in the gearbox? And one more thing, I wanted it down to 350 fps and that shouldn't have done anything right? I plan on calling him soon so please get back to me ASAP. Thanks for all your help and suggestions so far.
