Kind of a newbie question, but what do you guys prefer to carry mags, flashlights, munchies, etc. Vest, Chest rig, or Plate Carrier? (I'm a big fan of MOLLE, due to the fact that I can mix and match whatever I need, but the cost is a little steep)
Secondly, what kinds of places should I look to find them on the cheap? (I'll probably get one with my tax return)

It is completely up to you. It is what ever you feel comfortable with. Personally I run a shellback tactical banshee plate carrier. It is real deal. Life time warranty. Only $100ish. But when it is super hot I run just a chest rig. Don't want to die out there. The big thing about your kit as summer gets closer will be hydration. Either a pack or bottle u can carry. As far where to go to find stuff there are a ton of places. Locally there is crazy cromags in Huntington. Kzoo has a couple of stores also. Plus any military surplus. Not all have new stuff but some do. There is one just east of Angola. Online. Pick your posin there. Airsoftgi.com evike.com there are a ton of others. Just search for what u want. Compare prices. Consider shipping and customer service as part of pricing. If u have specific questions we can always help ya as u go.

Yeah I agree with jackrabbit. A battle belt is a good idea. Room for molle attachment. And if u do have a pc and need to ditch it. You still have mags and what ever on your belt or as it is sometimes called "first line"

Yeah man ams is a great place to shop. I get stuff from there all the time. The only thing I would say. Rite now Airsoftgi and evike both have 20% off coupon codes rite now. Help shave off a couple bucks. But like I said AMS is great. And tan with MC I have seen it. I think most run green. Or MC.

Evike is not a bad place Airsoftgi is not a bad place In Fort Wayne GI Joes is not a bad place. Airsoft Society. com is a good place to find used tactical gear as everyone there has ADHD and cannot keep a loadout to save there lives. For real steel gear Ebay, Rangerjoes.com. and a couple others (This is WAAAAAAY Out of 90% of peoples price range)
I prefer and LBE setup like the battle belt of many others, because I play milsim. I carry alot of gear, and a lot of weight that the LBE can position more comfortably then a Plate carrier. PLUS they breath so much better then any Plate carrier period. And in our summers they are so so so nice.
Plate carriers are great for guys who do a lot of rec play, and can transfer to an assualt or short action milsim loadout easily enough. They are bulky. They make you move funny, and make you learn a new way to move in them. They have a high learning curve in some aspects.
As for the NcStar rig or other small chest rigs. These are all you really need for Rec play. Light, breathable, and just the bare essentials..... Let me repeat that. Bare Essentials. Mags.... and .... welp thats about it. Which is fine for rec play. If you buy a chest rig however I do recommand getting an alice belt pistol belt as well, so you can attached more pouches or Alice gear, such as pistol mags, grenade pouches, and canteens.
If you need help with gear let me know. I love gear. I'm not the biggest geardo, but I do think I am the biggest one on here.

I am a Geardo, direct all US MIL questions to me! A competitor has arrived. We must compare time frames of study sometime. I would love to learn about other units and eras. I know a lot of Navy Seal Greenside Ops 1980s-1990's as well as the original Desert Storm and Early Grunts of Iraqi Freedom. Some knowledge of Vietnam, and lesser known of World War II
