whether there's an orange tip, black tip, or the gun is clear, ALWAYS treat your airsoft gun like a REAL gun. this means:
Keep your finger OFF the trigger until you're ready to fire (and i dont mean "w00t its shooting time!" i mean get your target, line your sights, THEN place finger on trigger!)
Keep the Muzzle (the dangerous end) pointed DOWN (or up if you wanna look like a Vietnam hero) just not sideways
I realize they are airsoft guns and have a limited range, but good gun safety is a habit you should learn and stick with at ALL times, so pretend the barrel is a laser beam with infinite range, and every direction its pointed, it will reach.
Real combatants only put the safety on when they are not using the weapon (as in storage). the rest of the time, it should be set to the appropriate fire rate for the situation. your finger off the trigger is your new safety. safeties are good, but proper firearm habits are important. Standard sidearms go into the holster, hammer down, safety off, round in the chamber on real guns. This only proves how important your finger placement is. if you prefer to use a safety, by all means do so.
handing a weapon off on real guns is a tricky thing. first thing you do when you receive a firearm is check to ensure if its loaded or not. with airsoft guns, this holds true. ensure its empty, and even if it is, act like it is loaded.
keep your aim ON target while firing. if you are firing at a target, bring your rifle up, aim and fire, and keep your aim on the target until a new target has presented itself.
