My name is Matt. I'm new to competition airsofting and I just found this website today. I've been doing my best with research but there isn't good information available online. Here is my loadout. Please tell me if it is good enough to compete.
A&K M249 Para w/drum mag 9.6v 1200mah Red Dot Sight Ghille Suit (woodland) Crossman C11 CO2 Pistol Ruger P345 CO2 Pistol
I've done my best to get weapons and camo that will help me, but I'm not sure how good my loadout actually is.
Thanks for any tips and/or advice!

Welcome to the forums. We got a game this Sunday (and about every other), so feel free to come and play.
The A&K SAW is very good. We got a few guys that have them, and they are great guns. If you got BBs and Eye Protection, then your good to go.

yep... i have the SAW too... welcome to the forum... youre welcome to come out and play any sunday... we start at 12noon til around 5:30 ish.... saftyglasses/goggles and BBs is all youll need... i do think the ghille suit will be awfuly HOT once the warmer weather sets in... most of the guys that show up wearing it, usualy take it off after a game or two, and that was earlier in this year already... but what you wear is up to you, we dont care at all...

you can wear whatever shoes ya want... what poser meant was getting some sort of boot that has an "agresive" sole or tread pattern... youll be running around, climbing up hills that may be muddy at times... i like the green vietnam style nylon/leather "jungle" boot with the "panama" tread... doesnt slip around that much at all... the only required stuff is glasses... camo depends on what you want, sometimes we split the teams up according to camo, but now we are using armbands too ...

yep good decision to wear a full face mask, me and realism both wear them some others do too but ive already had some pounce off stuff and hit the mask one was a direct shot so it does its job.... just hard to look throught our scope if you use it but not alot of ppl do just looks for your trail of bbs

the scopes are for real guns... they arent for the BBs we shoot in the airsoft guns... point and shoot is the best way... that way you can watch the BBs fly and see where they are actualy goin...

pretty much. although i will say since I put the dot sight atop my M4 it makes follow the bb with your eyes MUCH easier

the problem is that when you look thru the scope, [especialy if it has "magnification"], you only see the BBs "arc" or "trajectory"... which is pretty big compared to a real bullet. people think they are disappearing into the enemy theyre shooting at, but in reality, the BBs are falling short of the intended target and you cant tell cause your looking a "tube"... giving you tunnel vision... try it... look at something far away and shoot at it with the scope, then do it again with out using the scope, and just adjust fire by watching where the BBs go... ill bet you will be surprised how different it is...
