So after some searching and some more searching I found this: www.airsoftmegastore.com/JG_R36K_RAS_Full_Metal_Gearbox_AEG_Rifle_p/jg608-8.htm so I ordered it and it finally came in the mail today. On the whole it's a pretty good gun, solid build and good materials. The only problem I've had is that the silencer it came with doesn't screw on straight, it pulls the left ever so slightly. I'm not sure why or how to fix it but it's just little enough to not affect the accuracy but enough to bug me lol.

Hmm thats odd that the otter barrel is a bit bent...you might want to make sure that the inner one isn't as well or you'll have poor accuracy (duh) and have a good amount of jams.

After taking off the silencer I found that the inner barrel doesn't continue though it and stops at the threads where it screws on. Either the the threads on the outer barrel assembly are damaged or the threads in the silencer are. I think I may just replace both to be safe. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ah ok well in that case I suggest you install a tight bore that will go all the way to the end of the silencer you'll see a improvement in fps, range and accuracy.
Weapon blender has some for like $12.00

you could find one at pb sports too... [if your like me and like to buy stuff at a "hands on" store...] the tight bore is an easy and a decent way to upgrade your gun... then next would be gettin a good "intellect" battery... goin to a 9.6v from a 8.4v would increase your rate of fire... get the biggest "mah" that you can find... basicly, thats how long the battery will last in the day...

Wouldn't I need to reinforce the gear box and the parts therein if I went up to a 9.6v battery though?

nope... only if you install a huge spring in the gear box... the "physical" demands dont change in the gear box... just faster due to the extra "juice"... any of the decent guns out there are able to take the 9.6 with no probs... i use them in all of my guns... i dont think ive ever actualy used a stock 8.4 battery ever... i bought the intellect with my very first gun and have gotten more since then... and the stock ones run dry in a very short time... my intellect ones last all day or real close too it... [depending on my trigger finger that day... lol]
