First a little background of the Glock weapon System :
Austrian engineer Gaston Glock is the founder of Glock GmbH, and designer of the "safe-action" auto-loading lightweight pistol that bears his name. His company, founded in 1963, manufactured primarily doorknobs, hinges, and other hardware supplies until 1980, when he heard that the Austrian military was looking for an improved handgun. According to legend, he designed the first Glock in his basement, and tested early prototypes by firing with his left hand, so that if the gun exploded (it never did) he could draw revised blueprints with his right hand.
Glock's first pistol was introduced in 1980, made standard-issue for the Austrian Armed Forces in 1982, and was quickly adopted by numerous other European militaries. In 1985 it was approved for import to the United States, and by the mid-1990s it was the most popular gun among US police departments and Special Forces.
The company's founder is notoriously withdrawn and rarely consents to media interviews, but he is known to have counted the right-wing extremist Jörg Haider and the late Pope John Paul II among his friends. On 27 July 1999, Glock was attacked and bludgeoned in a garage by former mercenary Jacques Pêcheur, while Glock's right-hand man Charles Ewert fled the scene. To the surprise of perhaps all three men, Glock (then 70 years of age) fought off his masked assailant, and Ewert was soon implicated in the embezzlement of millions of dollars from the firm and the hiring of the hit-man Pêcheur. Both conspirators were found guilty of attempted murder and imprisoned.
In 2008 I was sent to Glock Armorers School to be the Departments Glock Armorer. Since 1996 to present day I have used and learned the Glock weapon system. With that in mind I think I have a little background knowledge with the Glock system.
Now for the good stuff.
CYMA - Has come a long way with their Airsoft Weapon Systems. When myself and others started this team back in 2006 CYMA was CRAP....... you either had Classic Army or ICS or TM .. All clones were not worth the paper they were packed in.. Now obviously that has changed BIG TIME.
My loving wife purchased the CM030 for me back near Christmas 2009. I was very impressed with the solid feel of this weapon.
This gun I believe is to be replica of the Glock 17 which is the 9mm model. full size frame with a heavy feel to it. I even checked my off duty holster for my real deal and it fits almost perfect.
The package I believe she purchased from Weapon Blender and it came with the weapon, magazine, battery and charger. As you can see there is very little difference between the real deal and this puppy.
When you take it apart - This is where the Battery goes. The battery is a small 500 mah NIMH battery. The charger is easy to figure out however, it is a little different.
You can see that even this AEP has a small hop up included with it. I would guess on average this gun shoots around 200 + fps which is excellent when approaching a base or otherwise any CQB setting.
I will have some video posted soon of the weapon firing. It has both semi auto and full auto choice.
This gun is perfect of the people who do not like green gas or otherwise gas operated guns. Gas guns have to be operated in certain temps while the battery powered guns seem to have a slightly better tolerance for weather conditions.
Pros : Very Solid , very few parts to loose or break off. Decent accuracy and easy to operate. Does have a safety as well !
Cons : you need to watch your magazine. If you like to crawl around like I do it is easy to engage the magazine release and once you loose that little bugger chances are you wont find it again !!... Before games I will put tape over mine.
Battery - If you do not discharge this thing : which is a nightmare to do you will loose power quickly. I have noticed after a year of use that when I charge it the gun will shoot fine for about 10 minutes.. once it sits for over and hour it will not fire... Now with that being said I have NEVER discharged it...... so it is my fault and not the weapon system.
