Ive been looking for a reliable 2 way radio to use. I know all about the FCC crap that is pointless bacause they rarely ever try to enforce them for 2 way radios. What are some reliable brands?

go to walmart, gander mountain, or any place that has a hunting section.... they all should have sets of radios for sale... any 2 way will work, ya dont need the expensive ones that have a bazillion channels.... [we only use 2 channels, 1 for each team...] usualy between 1 and 5 for one team, and 6 to 10 for the other... can use any type of head gear, mic's, ear piece, etc... whatever works for you...
any radio ya get will be FAA approved....
cobra, midland, etc.... they all work...
funny, the cheaper they are, the easier they are to use... they dont have all the extra crap on them that youll never use... so ya wont hit a button accidentaly, switch something on/off... then need the manual to find out why your radio wont work...
know what i mean?

Got some new Motorola 2 way radios and headsets for them. Now my position will no longer be given away by a radio.

They work very well. My setup is 2 Motorola Talkabout radios and 2 PTT/VOX headsets from RadioShack.
