When I first started playing at Butler I used an Echo 1 SCAR. It was a good gun while I used it but I soon upgraded to a Magpul Masada. On day 3 of owning it the piston shattered for no apparent reason. After a long and costly repair I got the Masada back. It was light, quiet, and had great externals. But after the piston shattered I never trusted the internals again. Then I heard of KWA.
After researching KWA’s rifles I decided to save up and buy a SR-10 in June, 2011. After receiving the rifle I tested it and it performed well but not as well as it did after it was broke in. After it was broke in the accuracy went up a lot and it performed up to what I expected it to. Then one day it wouldn’t fire bbs more than 10ft. I took it to Cromags where they discovered that the c-clamp that holds the barrel in place was broke. After replacing that and the bucking the SR-10 was once again performing flawlessly. In December, 2011 I decided to expand my armory and buy a KWA M16BR.
I received the M16BR in mid-December. After the break in period it performed as good if not better than the SR-10. At that time I decided to make my SR-10 CQB legal. So I had a M100 spring installed so it would shoot less than 350fps. Then for many months both rifles performed as I expected.
Then at Wounded Warrior in 2012 my M16BR quit working. After taking it home and looking at it I determined that the motor contacts had come loose. So I quickly pinched the contacts back on with pliers and the M16BR was back in working order. Then both rifles performed as expected over the summer. That basically brings me up to the present time.
After inspection I have determined that the SR-10 will need a new piston and motor in early 2013 and both rifles will need new buckings installed ASAP. For 2013 my plans are to continue with regular inspections and maintenance, install high-quality tightbores in both rifles, and improve the externals of both rifles. Overall I have had excellent experiences with KWA rifles.
SR-10:
Owned for 1.5 years, 30,000+ bbs through it, 1 minor break (c-clamp)
M16BR:
Owned for 1 year, 15,000+ bbs through it, 1 very minor problem (loose motor contacts)
Overall I really like KWA's AEGs and would buy another if I felt like it. I trust KWA because I've never had problems with them.
