I've only been playing backyard for a few months now, and went out and got the Crosman Pulse R76 for 50 bucks at Dunhams (I'm on a college students budget ;D ). I know everyone gives Crosman s**t, but is this an ok gun to come play with on the weekends?
I've added a red-dot, foregrip, and single point sling, and it's working for now

Haven't seen one to use one. If you find it lacking, we have people selling used guns. There is also the walmart m4 for $99 it's an elite force brand and not to bad. There's also the idea of the G&G Polymer which are awesome guns. These are on sell at evike with a 20% of coupon comes to about the same price as the walmart gun. We will do our best to help you out. In the end me and Darth run GBBRs with 30 round mags. Use what you can, then move up or stay.

Alright, thanks. The R76 is an alright gun, no room for upgrade and it wears out quick from what I've read. I want to get the King Arms M4, but it's a little out of my price range right now; maybe by the end of the summer.

Personally I would stay far far away from crosman. They have super low fps. Especially when using anything heavier than a .2. Also the black ops m4 at Walmart is not a elite force brand. But elite force does make some b%#@ss cheap guns. You want to go with something that has a metal gear box and gears. Plastic ones will just wear out to quick then u are spending twice the money. But slacker is rite g&g make great guns. Even kwa (one of the best brands) had low cost solutions. Under $200. With most normal aeg they make them Tokyo Marui compatable. Which means upgraded work together. And that makes a huge difference. Because if your crosman breaks. You are done. No replacement parts. Just have to replace the gun.

Wait. I was told the walmart = same people as elite force. Hmmm studies must be done. Runner do not be discouraged with your gear. Come and play. We'll have you hemoraging money on military canvas and AEGs soon enough lol

It's not necessarily the gun you use but how you use it. I use an SD700 spring rifle but that doesn't stop me from popping Darth as he runs around. It sure as hell won't stop me now that the spring and guide have been upgraded. I'll just be doing it from further away

Your Crossman will work to get a taste but don't expect it to last awhile. Don't let the big name companies fool you most of them are just over priced and are nothing but junk, i'd strongly suggest staying away from Classic army G&G and ICS those three brands are about a joke. You'd be better off looking at getting that king arms gun you were looking at or a kwa. As for gas guns, few people here use them but I wouldn't suggest one for a beginner.

No, No gas guns till your funds go up, and you make a commitment to Immersion over Potency in some regard.

I would not recommend King Arms, at least the low end guns based solely on personal experience. My nephew has a Colt M4A1 that he got for about $200 with battery and charger. I have had to replace the screw that holds the stock on and the spring guide. His battery died relatively quick even with using a smart charger and not the charger it came with. Replaced the bucking, but was probably due to him using cheap ammo. His cylinder lost compression and had to replace the o-rings, and now his selector switch is acting up. He could have ordered a combat machine with two batteries a smart charger and had it delivered for the same cost with a coupon code through Airsoft GI or Evike. I own two G&G’s; one I have not fielded yet, the other I have put about 10,000 rounds through with no problems. My nephew cannot say the same about his King Arms M4. I do however love my KWA it’s been the workhorse in my arsenal and have had no problems.
Anyways, just grab whatever gun you have and get out and play, it’s a blast.

Personally I like g&g. I have been using one for over a year. My wife also used one all year last year. I also have had a ICS. it has been a good gun. It has had it's problems. But it has been good.

another good brand at least in my opinion is echo1, there polymer is some of the strongest stuff i have found and they are a very reliable gun in my opinion. i have the e90, ak47 cpw and the m249 for awhile now and the only problems i have had with either of them was due to my lack of knowledge in the mechanics, upgrading and maintenance of the gun but i am learning slowly but surely. i also love the ICS m4 i have, it has always been one of my most reliable guns.

Echo 1 Rebrands other guns Rabbit. 9/10 Times I can show you the original company who made it. They do however add some of their own tech to them.
CYMA AK47 <<< Know a guy who has been using the same one pretty constant for 5 years. Beast of a gun

I'll take a look at what you guys suggested. I'll be fielding the crosman for quite awhile while I build up the coffers this summer
