Looks like I need a new motor; I'm assuming the motor was set too high?

Ouch, either that or too low. That can either be a cheap fix(replace pinnion gear on the motor) or a pricey fix(whole new motor).

Put in new motor, seemed to be ok. Finished putting pins in, and a few shots later it started to do the same issue. Checked the motor, and the pinion gear seems fine. Looks like I'll be bringing this to you to take a crack at Moo.

not using a lipo are you? Tried 3 different lipos and 2 different NiMH batteries to eliminate anything there...

Lipos put a lot of wear and tear on your guns internals that might have been what did your gun in.

Lipos put a lot of wear and tear on your guns internals that might have been what did your gun in. They're only 7.4v's, and the gun has only been fielded twice, probably less than 6000 rounds... I thought you only really had to worry about premature wear if you were running higher lipos like 11.1v?

Lipos put a lot of wear and tear on your guns internals that might have been what did your gun in. The only wear and tear you will see on ANY aeg from LiPO use is at the gear or the piston. (maybe bearing but its rare). you will not see this kind of wear at the pinion on the motor. The issue is in the motor alignment. Either improper adjustment or an angle issue from the pinion to the gear. But first, how long have you had this weapon? Have you had any repairs/mods done since you purchased this weapon? Given the amount of teeth wear and chips missing from the pinion, im wondering if there isnt some debris from inside the gear box that has gotten into the motor housing. maybe even dirt, mud or the like? If so, this can effect the motor alignment. (yes even a two degree change can cause chipping over time) Moo, if you need some help contact me.

OOPS!!! lol just saw how old your post was... you have probably already gotten this fixed... haha.. DISREGARD!! lol No problem; rifle was only fielded twice, probably less than 5000 rounds through it. Moo currently is looking into it.
