A little history on the real wood itself.
The Kalashnikov AK series of assault rifles has been the Soviet / Russian standard assault rifle since the early 1950's whose design is rooted in the German MP44 submachine gun of the Second World War. The rifle seems to have made a home among countless nations using it to this day and is a favorite among collectors even in the United States. It is reported that upwards of 35 million copies of the AK-47 have been produced world wide in one form or another and have been supplied to Soviet-supported states for decades.
The general appearance of the AK-47 is widely known with it's half-wood half-steel construction. The barrel runs under the gun system instead of over it and the curved magazine give away it's identity almost immediately. The fixed metal sight over the muzzle is another defining feature. The 7.62mm ammunition is a proven man-stopper and the 30 round ammunition cartridge is more than sufficient. The weapon has an effective range out to 300 meters, though the system suffers dramatically beyond it.
The AKM is the designation for the 'modernized' AK-47 and features a more robust and professional finish among other refinements, making the weapon less of an inferior product as early models appeared.

The CYMA - or CM036..
I was doing some research looking for my next weapon. I had a JG RIS AK ( Same as Josh's weapon ) All black with the RIS rails and forward grip. I wanted somet hing a little different. As well as something that still fairly cheap.
I cannot say enough regarding the current clones on the market and what they used to be like. As you have seen I have owned almost all the high end type guns that you will find on the Airsoft Battlefront . Ranging from Classic Army to ICS.
I located the CYMA 036 somewhere on the net and started reading. Watched a few videos. Liked what I saw. So I started looking for a retailer who carried it.
After some serious time behind the keyboard and some serious upsets in not finding it I finally did .

Now it was a waiting game. I knew Octor wanted to place an order with them So I was just going to go ahead and send it in with his.
About 3 days later Dave arrived and asked if I could place an order for him for a madbull full metal dealio..
Since I was not sure when Octor wanted his order placed I jumped on Dave's bandwagon so to speak.
It arrived about 6 days later.
** I had taken pics with the box and Airsoft GI paper showing chrono speed but I cannot find them so I took some quick ones today.
Gun appears EXCELLENT.. what I would expect if I bought the real deal.
Only a couple things I found that I didnt care for. One of which was the discolored pistol grip.. What color is that ??. Second of which is the pistol grip is loose and moves forward and back just a tad. Something I could deal with.
The metal is SWEET.. It is ALL metal ( Except the wood or fake wood ). The fake wood looks VERY real and is very nice.. This thing is SOLID... It would be my opinion that after owning a couple Ak-47's and SKS's this baby weighs about the same.
The paper that Airsoft GI sends with the weapon shows it chorno'd at around 450 fps.. I believe it is close. Punches a hole right through the bottom of the can ( Poor man's chrono ). It went right through and left a nice dent in the top of the can.
The hop up is where it normally is. The Bolt or fake Bolt is beyond excellent .. Not some flimsy pos that you can move back with your breath. This thing takes a little pull to get it back.
One thing I love it the slanted flash hider. Note ** there is a small spring in the top of the weapon that keeps this in place. If you take off the flash hider ( Counter clockwise thread ) then make sure you keep track of it. I lost mine and am going to need to get a new one put in soon.
Another feature that I like about this weapon is the red or redish colored magazine ( MAGAZINE ) that comes with it. This is a soviet era ( Replica ) . You can also see the scope mount on the side here.
Shoots hard and I have had many MANY confirmed Kills with this puppy. I would give this is a 8 out of 10 for rating . I have some metal bushings which I am going to have our tech install and with that being done it is a KILLER..
Pros : Hard shooter 450 out of the box !
: All metal. By saying all metal it is ALL metal
: Easy or fairly easy to upgrade. Accepts all mags that I have used after market brands.
: Sounds solid . Very little rattling going on with this girl
: Butt stock plate fits on TIGHT. No more of that loose crap
the earlier CYMAs and ICS had
Cons : Rate of fire. Very slow. However this will be taken care of
: loose pistol grip. Yuck - Can do though for price.
: Comes with nylon bushings. - Will be taken care of.
Overall I would recommend to anyone wanting a AK type weapon. CYMA and the clones in general are giving the higher ends a good run for their money. I would take this up against any other high end gun on the field.
