Oh no. A p*. Look good. But I'm not sure the rules for our field concerning them. I personally don't want a 50rd burst at 600fps

According to are rules if it's on semi only he could go to 500 fps, BUT he'd have a large MED on are field.

For a 500fps does that have to be modded to have a semi only lock out. Plus are we going to require tournament locks on the regulators. And again why do people say gas guns are so expensive?

I have a tourney lock. I can set my gun to fire semi auto only. My gun is currently set up to shoot in a 'closed bolt' style. My ROF is around 15/second. I have an XContech chrono. You will not have any issues with me using my gun in our games.

I mentioned I was "going for DMR" and I only mentioned the FPS to describe it's capabilities. I have no intention on shooting 50 RPS at 500+ FPS ever. hell, I ran out of ammo 2-3 times at Red Dawn. I don't need to shoot any faster.

If fields manage Polarstars the way they should be, there is no reason to fear the technology. Frankly, it's superior to AEG tech in just about every possible way, save for price. FAR easier to maintain, more precise FPS and ROF control, far less potential for breakdown, much higher consistency and, if proper field oversight is in place, easier to regulate.
The problem with them right now is that they're pretty much the cutting edge tech and fields don't have tons of experience with them. They fail to place the proper safeguards and limits on these guns and that's when the problems arise.
Jackasses that are out to hurt people on the field are going to do it with or without a Polarstar. The technology isn't the problem, mismanaged fields and by extension idiotic, mismanaged players are the problem.
We know Butler doesn't play shady, regulation lax games simply by reading the forums. It's one of the reasons the field is very attactive. You aren't going to have a problem from either Neal or myself (as I'll without a doubt be going Polarstar in the very near future.) We aren't out to hurt people, we're there to play. In almost 20 years, we have never even considered the idea of intentionally cheating or undermining field regs. We'll abide by any and all field regulations at all times, wherever we go.
Sorry about the little speech in what is not the proper thread. I've been reaserching Polarstars for my own interest the past few days and much of the misinformation out there is.... frustrating.

falwell, Totally agree!! I know we play with some really great guys at our private field and they run polarstars and are very honorable!! Tourney locks and all that good stuff. I have seen how the P* has gaining more and more momentum and like what I am seeing as far as reliabilty but totally out-performing AEG's, I care to differ I have shot with and against them....at 400fps I can hit anything they can, we have done the range and accuracy test shooting at each other just to compare. But again, what I am really liking about them is their track record for going down and NOT needing alot of maintenance. BTW, SWEET lookin' weapon!!

falwell, but totally out-performing AEG's, I care to differ Oh as far as shot to shot performance (accuracy, range etc.), I doubt it's different at all. At the end of the day, it's still both of em pushing air through a pipe. The metrics you mentioned are determined far more by the hop up, barrel type etc. than the engine. I hit Neal with this line on the way up to the Chicago game.. AEG's run on roughly the same technology as clocks. The first mechanical clocks were invented around 1200 AD. After 800 years, I think we're due for a change.

Disclaimer: The following post is my opinion and mine only. And should not reflect the veiws of any other member of BIA.
The reason I don't like p* is because it is paintsofting. The entire reason I got into Airsoft and not paintball is because of the realism. And the p* sucks a ton of realism out of it. I agree that AEGs are like sewing machines. But there are other options if u don't want that. And especially if u want realism. But to each there own. And I also have just had bad experiences with p* owners. And I know that should not reflect on any of you guys. Because I don't know u and have never even met you. But it left a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry for the rant.

Darth my sentiments exactly. I have a real hard time using a whip and tank, I played paintball for a many years and couldn't stand the remote set-up at all.
Now, from what I am hearing is alot of folks go the polarstar for reliability. I say ok, my weapons I use very rarely have any issues and shoot fantastic. Why would I switch to something that now I am tied to a paintball field to have my HPA tanks filled and I still need to run batteries?
For those that want as close to a true-milspec AEG I agree with Koyote.
